Update

Hey all,

In response to Livi's comment today: we don't have to have the slide completely finished by Thursday because I think we decided that we will compile the final presentation together, but if you add your analysis to the relevant slides (I'm going to post the order that we decided below)the that would be great! Basically in the meeting we said that it looks like everything's going well and just carry on with the analysis, adding what you think is most relevant to the slides! Here is the order that we decided on:

INTRODUCTION: All of us (topic and research slides etc.)
ZOSIA
BRIONY
HEATHER
LIVI
LOUISE
CONCLUSION: All of us (evaluation, method, etc)

Week 10

Hi everyone,

Sorry I couldn't make the meeting this afternoon, but from what I've heard it seems as if it was successful and we have organised to record our narration on Friday at 11 am at Zosia's. (I think everyone knows the address). As well as this we are going to have our regular meeting at 11 am on Thursday in the library in room D.

Just a quick question, obviously we have to have finished our analysis by Friday, but should we also have finished our slides by then as well?

Also, don't forget to note down all of the books you use in the bibliography doc on googledocs so that when it comes to doing our references/bibliography it's all there!

Week Nine/Ten

Hi all,

Just to update those who weren't at the drop-in session on Friday: we covered the technical aspects of creating the presentation.

We are still on track for our meeting at 2pm on Tuesday in which we need to feedback from our individual analyses.

Following the guidelines I have created the very bare bones of our presentation (and put our names in the credits in a lovely alphabetised manner!) just so we've got something a bit more visual to work towards, and it looks like we're closer to the end!

Meeting Today

Today we met in the library to talk about how everything was going. We have decided to allocate separate frameworks to each person in the group to make the analysing of the transcripts smoother and more concise. We are then going to meet next Tuesday to bring our findings together.

Tuesday 22nd, 2pm- Bring analysis notes together to discuss then we will divide the final analysis up

Thursday 24th, 11 am- Brief meeting to finalise how we are going to do our presentation in preperation for the drop in session

Fridy 25th, 12pm- the drop in session

Tuesday 29th, 2pm- meet to start presentation, discuss everyone's individual analysis, start to compile power point

Friday 2nd, 2pm- narrate powerpoint work out 'who did what' and write commentary and put together presentation (this will probably be at someone's house)

Tuesday 6th, 2pm - FINAL MEETING :( finalise all aspects of presentation before the big day!

Week 8

In our meeting today we looked at how our data collection is coming along. So far it is going well but we just have a little more to work on.

For meeting next Tuesday, we all need to just go over our transcriptions, making sure our conventions are the same. Upload your transcripts to Google Docs and write up brief notes of any prominent differences between the males and females to discuss next time.

Consent form and participant information

I have uploaded to goole docs a revised consent form and an additional participant information document. You can see them here consent form and participant information, as always, you should have been added to them via email. Please have a look at them to check whether I have got any of your details wrong! Then fill in your name before giving them to the participant : )

Transcription conventions

I've uploaded the transcript conventions from another module that we can refer to, to keep our transcriptions consistent. It is quite in-depth so I doubt we'll need to mark down each and every one of these features.

For some reason I can't add Zosia to be able edit this document - not sure why?

Consent form

I have uploaded the consent form in a google document which you will be able to access and edit here. I have also emailed it to you. :)

week 7 update

What we have done so far:

1. so far we have the overview of our research topic

2. we are collecting data

3. we have arranged our future meetings

4. we've discussed changes to make our research title and project more concise


What we still need to do:


we have had a meeting today in which we discussed the following things:

1. we need to adjust our title slightly following the comments that Alison gave us.

2. Finish our data collection, still using the questions 'can you describe your most embarrassing moment?' We have agreed to book a study room in the library next week so that we can bring our analysis of our data together and discuss our findings (Tuesday 2 pm).

3. Briony is going to scan the transcription conventions so that we all have the same transcriptions and Livi will write a consent form and post it so that we all use the same consent forms too.

4. We are all going to finish watching the lectures for milestone 2, paying particular attention to the lecture on the presentation and podcasts. We have decided as a group to present via video and live speech (*this may require a meeting to understand how we make the videos and put them onto the power point)
